Default Sourcing a 6.0 Block

I'd like to get some input on where best to get a 6.0 block, preferably in the SoCal area (and a good price, of course). If I do a core (I don't have a block) and all the requisite machining (at a very reputable performance motor builder), I'll probably be into it for close to a grand ($1000). If I go with a brand new block, it'll be around $750, I think. Anyone know of a good source if I decide to buy new? I do understand that with the machining option, I can get way better tolerances, especially in the cylinder bores (no, piston slap).

Also regarding heads: If I add 2.00" (6.0L) valves to 4.8/5.3 heads, what exactly is involved? Will the seats need to be changed, or can I use the existing one's? If they need to change the seats, will there be a need to do any pocket work? Will the 4.8/5.3 ports support 2.00" valves (I guess the question is....do the ports flow the same as the 6.0L ports?)? What can I expect to pay to have the 2.00" valves installed?

Thanks,

Andy

I bought a "seasoned"(block that has mileage on it) 6.0L block off of Ebay, most engine builders prefer a seasoned block over a new one.especially if your going to bore it, etc... I got it for around 450.00 shipped from a guy out of texas, if you would like his name and number I would be glad to give it too you. I just had it magnafluxed and bored, they told me that the block was an excellant condition. Just figure you will save yourself a few hundred bucks going this route.
