You might have an exhaust leak.

My exhaust does kinda the same thing. I have the lt's and just cats and it's dumped right under the cab. It sounds good at idle and everywhere else, except if I do rev it up real good it'll pop. I am for sure runnning a little rich on the top end right now and I can't really tune it yet since I don't have my wideband 02. but, when my truck was running fairly normal the other day I didn't have any problems with crackling/popping.
I know for a fact that I don't have an exhaust leak anywhere too.

Hopefully when I get my wideband and start tuning the top end it'll sound a little better. overall, under WOT it sounds like a freakin beast.

It's normal, kinda sounds like a huge exhaust leak? It's the headers, they just sound like that.
