Ive had C5's and SS Camaro's. Im just too big now to fit in those cars comfortably. The seating position kills my knees and I literally couldnt drive myself home after a leg workout b/c the position of the seat hurt my back so bad.
I had no plans of making my Tahoe fast, but after a few "minor" mods I heard about Whitt's truck and I was hooked. I just think fast trucks are so much more exotic than fast cars. It really has something to do with a fun little "Damn, that thing is fast" every once in a while.
Im hoping to get a real sense of accomplishment in the next few weeks and Im anticipating 415- 450 rwhp!!

because everybody else has fast cars, why not do something different, something thats not as easy , and i agree with the accomplishment thing.

Why have a car? I can't tow my boat to the lake with a car, or my 4 wheelers to the woods or mountains or a lawnmower over to a buds house .....

I wanted/needed a truck when I was shopping. I didn't want to have 2 vehicles, so I worked with what I got. I ended up with a transmission eating 12 second truck. When it has a trans in it that's holding up, drivability is AWSOME! It is an absolute blast to drive around. I've towed the boat to the lake with it, as it was a daily driver and still functional as a truck, but I didn't like doing it because I knew I was on borrowed time with the transmission.

Once I get the 80e running ... I don't see that being a problem anymore.

FYI .. it's a blown camed 5.3 with a Yank TT3000. It would run mid 12's all day long.

To top it all off .... how would you feel if you were driving a new vette and got blown away by a truck on the streets, not just beat ... but beat bad.

hell yay. how would you like it if you and your buddies were in a mustang or a stock camaro or even with min imal mods or heavy mods at a light. along comes a sweet looking denali pick up. you look over and it is a sweet ride and sounds good as well. he looks over once and then looks ahead as to not notice much. you take off from the light about half throttle to only see the tailights of that very denali smokin your a**. and then to be laughed at. next light you are set. and that same truck kicks your *** again. to me that is priceless. and i can take a trip-move-tow and all kinds of things that a car just wont do.

just because i could.....

honestly i have more fun racing on the street with this pickup (yea it isnt a chevy, so excuse me) than i do with my big cammed big stalled racecar wannabe TA. hard to explain but it is just fun.

that and i got sick of laying down when i drove or trying to see what was around that big *** truck before i passed them. having a 12 second (or faster) truck will whoop most "fast cars" on teh street. that and i needed something to beat my dad's duramax that was running 13s.

Why a truck?

I'm not much of a car person. Well, that's any car made after 1972.

I DO love LS1 cars, but I'd probably end up with some old iron before I'd make my way to one - mainly due to costs.

I'm limited (by physical parking spaces) right now, to one vehicle.

A truck does it all for me. Tows and hauls crap, it's got an american V8 in it that responds well to mods. Lots of room under the hood. I can drive it all year round. They give you that "safe" feeling driving them. I get a little freaked out driving in low cars, mainly on the highway where I can't see anything but the bumper of the car in front of me.

i just needed to haul more stuff around than a car would allow me to do. since i don't have a z28 any more, i might as well try and make this fast. oh, if you buy used parts it isn't that expensive to get a truck running quick. i think it has been said several times but i'll beat the horse again, it is fun to make a car that is supposed to be quick look dumb after you pound on him.
