I mean what was the weight of the stock gas tank and what is the weight of the new fuel cell ?

I want to do the same with a 10 gallom tank and wonder what I will reduce in weight.

Exhaust question:

Here is my set-up.
357ci small block chevy
10.7:1 static compression with flat top pistons
Mighty Demon 825cfm, Super Victor copy intake
Patriot 'Vortec' heads, 185cc Int runners, 2.02"/1.6" valves
Comp XR276HR-10 cam, .504"/.510", 224/230, 110-106
PerformaBuilt level 2 4L60E
2800rpm stall converter
4.10:1 rear gears

since the fuel tank is no longer in the way I will be redoing the exhaust, running duals with an H-pipe, with exhaust tips going through each side of the bed.

Like this:



The mufflers are Flowmaster Super 40, turned sideways, offset in/center out.
The headers are Hooker long tubes with 2.5" collectors. I can't decide to either run 2.5" pipe from the headers to the mufflers, with a 2.5" H-pipe and than run 3" tailpipes out to the bed sides. Or just run 3" pipe the entire way from the 2.5" collectors back.

The same exhaust set up will also be behind the 385ci stroker SBC with the same specs as my 357ci too

You know what they say about idle hands makes for devils work. While waiting for the new trans I've been doing other little things on the truck while I'm tying up a rack at work anyways.

The tires can't rub on the inner fenders if there aren't any inner fenders. A trip to the pressure washer will be a must once it's driving again.



I also pulled out those 2 year old Hooker 2462 headers, and will try a set of Hedman 69890 coated headers with 3" ball flange collectors.





I'm hoping the new headers will not only clear the frame & steering, but will also give me more clearance around the cab corners so I can correct my drivetrain angle a bit.

You should be able to see a bit of the headers through the wheel wells too.

I realize it would make for a bit more clean up, but actually the tires still have a great deal of cover from the fenders without the plastic inner fenders
