Default for some reason i can't build boost

i knew this was coming. the waste gate has been siting on the shock tower since day one and with the extra tq i am seeing now it is pushing hard on the shock tower. i have another header to put on there so it wont slow me down. this give me a good reason to call up sam at cmotorsports and see how those kit revisions are comming.

this happend after puting race fuel in and turning up the boost a little. i was going to work my way up to 15psi or so and hopefully smoke me previous best gtech but it wasn't meant to be.

it is suprizing how slow the truck is with that part broken.

I bet it didn't take long to realize you had a prob!! I have a buddy with a 93L and his setup is similar to yours (408/turbo etc) A few months ago he blew a seam on his intercooler tank and lost all the boost. LIke you said it feels like a dog with no boost.

As a side note he went to the dyno with me yesterday and he made 610/705 and then 723/866 with a dry shot. Those 2 pulls were at 14-15lbs. Was the first time I ever watched a turbo get dynoed. Was pretty cool-he just kept turning the **** and the numbers kept increasing !! Anybody want to trade me a turbo for this Whipple??

Better that it didn't happen on the dyno and waste your money.

maybe a limiting strap on the motor will help keep it from hitting the shock tower? a couple pieces of chain and a turnbuckle would work nice. does your other header have the w/g in a revised spot?

i used to service 18 wheelers and on bunch of newer macks we had there was a bracket welded right to the up pipe, every bracket broke off at some point leaving a half dollar size hole, try pulling 40k lbs with no boost

A limit strap may not be a bad Idea, just get it set so you dont get vibration.
