Default Solved my overheating problem

Had my 34" radiator with a single flue recored to a double. This cooled mine down a ton. The single flue just can't handle 400+ cubic inches. Also put one in a friend's truck with a stroker 402. At first his still ran hot (205*+) even with a 180* stat. I checked the stat in a pot of water on the stove and found it was not coming off seat till 200*. Installed another one and it idles at 174* and drops to 165* when you increase rpm's. And this is in the heat of the day. This says our water pumps are a little lazy at 750 rpm but can do the job when the rpm's are increased. If I can cool my 427 with 12.5 compression then this setup should handle most trucks on here. Here is a pic of the old and new radiator core compared. Also had to trim a little off the electric fans shroud to clear the extra thick core.

I have never heard the term "flue" used like that.

That's pretty cool, pun intended. What type of coolant are you running? Stock size balancer?

I'm still running the orange stuff from stupidity but will be switching over to the green soon.

Running an ATI balancer with 10% reduction.
