Default Sold the SS, now it's project Tahoe!

Sold the convertible. Bought a Suburban for my wife. Taking my wife's Yank equipped Tahoe as my next project. Let the mods begin. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" /> <img border="0" title="" alt="[Cool]" src="gr_images/icons/cool.gif" /> <img border="0" alt="[jester]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_jest.gif" /> <img border="0" title="" alt="[Eek!]" src="gr_eek2.gif" /> <img border="0" alt="[Fluffy]" title="" src="graemlins/fluffy.gif" /> <img border="0" alt="[Burnout]" title="" src="graemlins/burnout.gif" />

Sweet, now the truck forum has it's own converter tester. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Razz]" src="gr_tounge.gif" />

What type of plans do you have for the 'Hoe <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" />

<img border="0" alt="[pimp]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_pimp.gif" /> or <img border="0" alt="[Truck]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_truck.gif" /> or both. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" />

I will mod as the funds allow. This will definitely be a sleeper though. Stock looking, but very lethal.

Probably do a 6.0L with heads, cam, nitrous, but before that, I will do the easy bolt-ons like UPD airbox, ASP UD pulley, high flow muffler ,212/218 114cam, LS1 edit session. I think GM did a good job with the exhaust manifolds and cats. It's just that the muffler could be more free flowing. Instead of ditching the excellent mandrel bent factory 3" cat back, I'd like to find the quietest high flow muffler that doesn't have any drone. Any suggestions?

Sounds like that's going to be one quick Tahoe when it's done. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" />

Probably a Dynomax or Magnaflow muffler is going to be your best bet.

My experience with Dynomax is that they have a very mellow sound at part and WOT. This was on a different vehicle though.(355 S10) <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" />

I have heard the Magnaflow have no resonance and are relatively quiet at part throttle. They do open up at WOT though.

Definately stay away from Flowmasters. Alot of resonance at cruising speeds. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Eek!]" src="gr_eek2.gif" />

The Corsa system sounds nice but, I don't think they sell just the mufflers. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Sad]" src="gr_sad.gif" />

I think B&B makes a system for your Tahoe. I bet it would sound good but, again I don't think they sell just the mufflers.

Here is magnaflows site. They have their different mufflers with measurements and part numbers. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />

Thanks for the link John. I checked it out. The stainless Magnaflows look nice. I'd probably get the biggest, stupidest muffler they make since it would probably be the quietest with the best flow.
