Default so yea, cam swap time

Im not really sure if I will have to replace the gaskets seeing as how it only has 40k on it.

Cam is the Comp 212/218 .558 .563 Hi-Lift Version.
From searches I've learned that the stock pushrods will be fine, but will I need to swap the srpings for some z06 springs or something better?
I would like to spin it to 6400 so keep that in your consideration.

The tools will be taken care of I think. I will also probably get a few extra spring locks just in case. And of course oil and antifreeze.

Anything else???

That cam will pull slightly higher. Consider shifting at 6600rpm.

I would not recommend shifting @ 6600 with stock pushrods. Get a set of hardened ones. They run about $70 used.

6600rpms ??, with a 212/218 ??....ok

I'd be leaning towards a 6200rpm shift with that cam but if it'll make power that high go for it.............

I am under the impression he is talking abuot the XR265HR cam. The complete specs on this cam are 212/218 558/563 115
I have tuned this cam before and it pulls nicely to 6700. Moreover, according to comp cams, it's operating range is from 1400-6700.
http://www.compcams.com/Technical/Cu...ML/200-203.asp
Furthermore, I currently have a 212/218 522/529 114 and ran my best time shifting at 6500.
You should be fine shifting at 6600-6700 with this cam.

If you are gonna spin the motor anywhere past 6000 rmp, I would get hardened pushrods and go with a more stout spring like at least a Comp 915, (which you can get fairly cheap) but i would run 918s just to be safe.

do it right the first time, get you some 918 springs and some hardened pushrods.... pm me and I'll give you a number where you can buy them the cheapest here in houston.... I am no cam expert but I agree with Tiburon, I think if you get teh hardened pushrods and 918springs, you should be able to shift at 6500-6700??
