to darkblue5.3- y did u get away from .45?
sometimes there can be pvc clearance depending on the cam even gaskets..... i went with a regular .053 gasket from the chevy dealership, and went from the 7.4 pushrod to the 7.350 rod.... had i done things differently i would have bought some scoggey dickens thin head gaskets for a tad higher compression, a lil more expensive, but worth the extra $$... i have a friend of my mine who has a 5.3 H/C/I ....and took out his already milled 862's to mill em to a whopping .050 !!

wow thats alot of millin,lol. thats not to much?

it first seemed to be too much at first... but after a pro-flow and a 150 shot he went 11.3!! his truck...better yet those 862's are lovin the .050 mill!! i still cant believe it...

wow thats a pretty good time and i take it he isnt havin problems so thats good, im prolly still gonna go with .30 cause my luck is that i would have problems milling it that much, thanks though
