Question so here it goes.. 4.8

well proud member of the 4.8 community. but after 2 years im ready to step it up. and no i do not want to engine swap to a 6.0.. i wanna keep the 4.8 and make it where it can still be street comfortable but get as much out of her as i can while keeping it drivable. supercharger is a definite. and cam also. but passed this i really dont know where to go. i know ill need bigger injectors and higher volume fuel pump. but my tranny knowledge is slim to none. i hear a lot about stall converters and understand the concept but is that all ill need to do to tranny? and gears, like i said i want fast but still realistic to drive around town. any help or place to start will be greatly appreciated

Are you set on a supercharger or just any form of boost? Gears will depend on what form of FI you go with. As for the trans, it would be a good idea to upgrade to a 4L80e. If you put any power to a 4L60e, it will die soon enough.

You sure you don't want to upgrade to a 6.0L? I just took a 408 out of my truck and swapped a 4.8L in. I'm trying to make big power with this little engine. Should be fun!

I was just kidding with the 6.0L comment. So are you going with a TVS unit? The gear choice should be based on highway driving. If you don't ever drive on the highway and don't care about fuel mileage, the sky is the limit. 4.56's would be fun with a blower.

yeah i was originally thinking roots but after a little research ive been leaning towards the tvs. and there will be some highway miles. drive about 60 miles to see family on weekends so something reasonable on the gears
