Default SLP Loudmoth Resonator

Just in case any of you guys were wondering. I installed an SLP Loudmouth 1 "Shotgun Resonator" on my truck yesterday in place of my Aerochamber. Glad I did it too, becuase my aerochamber had the insides of it take a dump and that was part of the noise I could hear rattling around in it.

Anyways, I took a chance on the SLP, was originally looking at the Magnaflow race mufflers. I had never seen the insides of the SLP LM1, I had been told that there was nothing on the inside, but was not preparred for what I saw.

Typical bullet muffler right??????

Wrong.......

On the sound, its about like a typical bullet at idle, not too loud, but definitely noticable, on startup--its a bit raspy, but sounds badass. At WOT, sounds damn near like an open cutout, but maybe not QUITE as loud. Sounds damn nice just cruising around and with any amount of gas applied it rocks. Let me be the first to say though that this might be TOO much with LT's and ORY. Oh, and it does drone a bit, but I also had it dumped right before the rear axle. I did leave myself enough room though that later down the line I may add a y-pipe behind it and run some hidden tips to the back corners of the bed if I find it too annoying. I seem to notice it more when the truck is cold, but after it warms up not so much. Performance wise, I don't really notice any difference from the aerochamber to the SLP, they both seem to perform very well.

So far I really like it, but it is loud.

I just did the opposite... Kinda

I went from my previous setup, pace LT's, ORY, SLP, dumped WAY before the axle... to...

Pace LT's, ORY, SLP, IMCO Extreme, dumped right at the axle... sounds MUCH better. Killed the rasp, most of the drone, and sounds much more smooth and mellow... has a ton more bass in the exhaust note than before... I like it with just the resonator, but I'm about to have to drive it 1500 miles pulling a trailer... and I wasnt feelin that at all. Not to mention, my little sister is coming with me. Dont know if she could have handled it.

Oh, agree, theres no way I could run it with LT's and ORY. But with stock mani's and cats, its not too bad. I may still go to the Magnaflow Race Series muffler, but.....I'll hand with this for a while.

I kinda like the Rasp though.

Sounds good with the stock cats, go to the exhaust clip section and listen to my loudmouth with gutted cats. It gets louder when warmed up and more poppy, it is a total different animal with gutted cats.In person, it is way louder than the clip plays, but it is a very good sound and easy to live with. It is on page 4.

hey curtis I totally forgot to call you back last week, my cousin took the week off last week anyways so you wouldnt have heard it... but he kept his stock pipe all the way back and just added a denali tip, sounds pretty damn good as mentioned, Im pretty sure you are getting that drone due to having them dumped, run them back and get rid of the drone and enjoy it some more... and yes, I agree that slp with LT and no cats will be too damn loud, if you want to hear my brothers come stop by the house someday, his is a stock manifolds, no cats, and slp resonator, it sound really really tuff, loud but not raspy? hard to explain, come by when ever you want...

Like I said AP, I will likely run the pipes back further eventually, but not too soon. I like it already, it is loud, but not too loud, at least not for me. With LT's and ORY I'm sure it'd be unbearable. The only time I really notice any rasp is upon initial startup.
