Outside temps are measured in Fahrenheit. Water freezes at 32 and boils at 212. In Celsius 0 is freezing and 100 is boiling. Pappy seems to be a dorkus.

 

so should i change out the 160 and go back to stock? will i F*#K up the truck if it keeps overheating like that? it's basically stoping at the half way mark and by then i've already started to drive it or turned off the engine.

how much would it hurt me performance wise to go back to the stock thermostat? i really don't even race all that much anymore but sometimes i'll have someone wanting a piece.

 

No dont change out the tstat! If anything that is whats keeping your temps down

 

My truck sits around 190-195... is that what the stock thermostat is? It's never below it except the first 5 minutes after turning the truck over. And it's never above it after it warms up, even on hottt days.

 

also check the return hose on the right side top radiatorsmall hose,take it off and see if it is clogged.that has happen a time are two.

The stock temp gauge sucks. I modded my factory t stat, and my gauge read 210, I put a 180* stat in and my gauge reads 210. Or I may have gotten it off when I changed my gauge faces

I dont know why people get a 180* stat anyway...the stock one is 195* so it doesnt make much of a difference Thats why i use a 160* stat and t gets cold as hell in VA and sometimes we have real long winters! It snowed here till the mid- early Feb.-March
