Holley multiport intake w/42lb. injectors and a late model truck intake fired by a fel-pro wide band o2 computer. 700r4 tranny and 410 gears all tuned by Futral motorsports gets my truck down the road pretty quick back and forth to work as this is a daily driver. Hey guys, I don't think I'm arrogant or cocky........One of your members(cablebandit) is a good friend and we help each other at the track. Actually, he has helped me much more than the other way around--I just started 1/4 mileing last June and he's experienced.
I wasn't satisfied with my stock L so I added some external mods and M/Ts to get it into the 12s(see sig.). I drive it daily(28,070 miles and it's a yr. old) and the only thing I do to race it is to remove the tailgate and put the M/Ts on. The mods are OK all day long when not racing.
Btw, I'm an old man--be 63 in July, but I do my own work modwise and I'm still pokin', I mean smokin'!

the point was that the change of plans wasnt for the better. if ur selling ur tr6s and putting in tr55s, that means there are "certain things" you cant use on ur engine anymore. therefore... the slowness shall claim total ownage over the truck of dino in the near future
lol, just messin wit u bro i can talk **** right now cause im still slower (thats how it works right?!?! lol j/k)

Let me throw a disclaimer on that. I have met several guys that are cool as hell that own Lightnings. My comment was directed at the original post about guys thinking they are the **** with their truck and don't know the first thing about them. Your numbers are kick *** Lightningrod. Yes, real speed and sport guys should have respect for a good performance machine whatever the brand. Ya got 30 years on me there Dan.

True, A chevy with a similiar charger and upgraded torque converter would be very close to a lightning. It is definetly time for our chevy guys to cook up some competition. Especially with this beast dodge is going to make, have u guys heard about it. It,s like half viper half truck, v-10, no charger, and 500+ stock HP! Wow! It also comes stock with 24 inch rims. Lightning move over!

Dan no hard feelings. I'm a 22-year old bowtie guy who is just pissed that the only view I ever get of ur guys truck (the lightning) is from the back!

I was one of them that mentioned about the stereotype of lightning owners being arrogant and cocky. Ofcourse not all of them are, but unfortunately I cant stand down and say I haven't seen/met a few owners that carried this attitude. hehe....
Ofcourse, a lot of this could be due to the fact, that us GM owners can't help but be jealous that Ford has produced such a performance truck and we're all still waiting for GM to produce the competitor.....

Thanks guys. I appreciate the 'kindly' remarks. I do respect most guys vehicles. I even respect some of thr ricer's cars because the guy is modding it to get the best he can out of it.
My secret confession---I use to road race(well, actually it was driver's schooling) a 1986 Saab(Swedish rice) 9000 4 dr. sedan--LOL. Now the fact that it was turboed from the factory made it a kind of 'sleeper' .
And believe me, I know there are some butthole Lightning owners but most of the Southern ones are laid back and 'at ease'. Also, cablebandit has handed me my adze more than once at SDR. I use to get ahead of him out to the 1,000 foot mark and then his turboed WS6 would blow by me like I was standin' still. Now, he's rebuilt his eng. and may be knockin' on 10s---I hope so!
If any of you ever come to Reynolds, Ga and race at SDR, look for my silver 01 L and stop by and we'll B/S and shake hands.
