Default SICK OF THE LIGHTNING

Yes im from NJ, the home of GUIDO's, mustangs and Lightnings. Another Guido down the street from me bought an L. they are quick, but there kinda lame, its nice to buy something already done, but id rather build it. What kills me is that everyone I know that has one of them thinks there the man.Thats ok, mine is still faster, and the N20 will be comein soon. I wonder what shot I should run. How can i figure out a safe ammout of n20 on a charged stock block

True Lightnings are for lazy old men! Plus with as much as one cost you could build a truck that would blow it off the road.

I'd own one. You can mod those you know. I saw one dyno that pulled nearly 400 rwhp w/ 530 rwtq (semi stock: chip, intake, and pulley). You gotta respect that. Our trucks were not made to compete with a Lightning off the showroom. So I consider Lightning owners that think they own Chevy in a different catagory. Sure you can mod our trucks to beat one. But when it is all done and said, the end cost for both would be similar. Don't forget, Lightnings are not all motor, they have a little help from a higher stall torque converter. That's part of the reason why they only tow 4500# to our 7000#. Don't get me wrong, I like our trucks and have no plans to get a Lightning, but if I aquirred one some how, I would take it and keep my truck. I under stand your frustration, those guys to have some ego's don't they.

man, id take a lightning in a heartbeat lol. i would just miss that extra cab i have. saying its boring to buy a lightning because they are already fast is like saying its gay to buy a vette or a camaro because they are already fast too... all of them can be heavily modded... (just one of them had to use a supercharger to get there )

But on a serious note, I wouldn't really mind owning a Lightning, but, I just have always been pro-chevy, for many reasons. Just don't see myself being a proud owner of a Ford. Funny though that the majority of Lightning owners do naturally have this arrogant, cocky attitude......Great thing about our trucks is the variety.......some for show, some for go, and some for both.......

(sigh).....what GM is planning, I still really don't know.....talk talk talk......all I'm hearing......

My 92 fullsize without a blower without nos, just a little ole 355 fuel injected airconditioned 4000 lb sportruck has yet to be beat by a lightning. Thanks to Allan at Futral motorsports, then when the blower and intercooler go on, I don't know if I will waste my gas on them. 12.5 @ 107 all motor!

I'd be driving a Lightning right now if I didn't need an ext cab for the family, I bought my Silverado because I liked it more than the Ford ext cab. I don't bash other truck makes, I have my likes and dis-likes but I don't bash (except for ricers of course). I think the Lightning is a bad *** truck, period. As far as buying a fast truck instead of building it "really slow truck" is right, don't knock some one for just buying it. If Chevy builds the SS truck, you won't buy it becuase it's already fast?. Buy what you like and let others do the same.
