Default Should the oil pan of fallen by now?

I loosened all of the 10mm bolts on the oil pan, and I can't get the oil pan to break free off the block. I've tried to pry with a flathead driver and even hit the part that is exposed by the timing chain being gone with a mallet. I need to get this thing off so I can put my new timing chain on, but I just don't wanna mes up this oil pan.

Help please.

Thanks,
Derek

You shoudl be removing both bolts uder the pan and through the timing chain cover. Dont forget the black plastic shields on the back of the pan by the trans and the bolts on them as well.

Which one? lol

The 72' Nova's getting the 13.7:1 391 ci SBC with some wicked headwork and a 250 shot of the spray in lieu of the 5.3L turbo ... which it appears may find its way into the truck after i finish a tranny freshening. Too much stuff to do no time :/

These are all the way to the rear of the pan, head of the bolts facing toward the rear of the truck, just like your drain plug almost.
