a good tune will make that cam run pretty good. if you don't mind losing a bit of bottom end grunt then this is a helluva cam for you. you will be
that beast will be nutts on the highway. later man.

it's gonna require alot of tuning to run correctly....the Predator won't do it, you will need a custom tune or LS1Edit, if you don't need stoplight power you can probably get away with it.
I don't know for sure but you may need to machine the valve guides on the heads as well with that much lift...I don't know that for sure though, I may be mistaken so don't take that as the gospel
at high RPM's that thing is going to pull like a mother !!, your main restrictions with that kind of cam are gonna be the heads !!
the stock 5.3 heads can't flow nearly as much as that cam can inhale and exhale.....headers are a must, with out them that cam is just being strangled. a 'vette intake might not be a bad idea too, you don't need the long runner s of the truck intake to make torque so you might as well ditch it for a more free flowing one.
also raise your rev limiter as high as you are comfortable with....6200 RPM's is probably a little on the low side, that cam will breath to almost 7000 assuming you have a good intake and exhaust
let us know what you decide to do.......

dude, why would you want to do an ls6 intake swap for just a cam upgrade? that would be insane considering the cost of the intake manifold itself and not to mention the cost of changing things around and the trouble it would cause to make it work right. the 5.3 heads you are right, they don't flow like the ls6 heads, but they do flow enough to suffice, he says he has a set of long tubes coming so that will help there. just get a good cold air intake(UPD, FIPK, etc.) and the headers, get rid of the cats and have the rear 02s turned off and you're a highway flyer.

all I'm saying is that cam can make more power than the heads and intake are capable of supplying air for......I guess I was being a little sarcastic there ....sorry for that
I sure wouldn't want to race him from a roll after he gets that cam done !!!

some of us "girls" enjoy the fact that our trucks can idle and have enough vacuum to actuate power brakes.......

But as someone mentioned needing the valve guides machined. He shouldn't have a problem now providing the valve guides/seals are in good condition. But high lift will wear the guides and valve seals prematurely.

the higher lift of that cam wont change he life of those heads by that much. there are tons of people that run bigger lift on stock heads in F-bodies all the time. I'LL RACE HIM FROM A ROLL!!!!!
