Default Shorty Headers

I'm looking to purchase a set of short headers, and I'm looking for an affordable price (not $300 to $400) and an easy install. Anyone have any suggestions?

White1 is right...they arent worth the price. Go with some pacesetter longtubes. IMO they were easier than shortys because I didnt have to mess with the locked up bolts on the flanges. I cut them off after the flanges. My install on the pacesetters took me like 3 hours max and a very loud drive to the muffler shop. For like $50 more you can have some badass headers that look good and sound good. Picked mine up from Texas speed and performance for like $450 shipped(included sales tax b/c i live in Texas ) Come on DO IT!!!!

On top of having some nice headers that sound good, will make far more power with longtubes vs shorties.

My truck came with jba shorties adn they are nice quality but im going to be ditching them for some longtubes eventually, go ahead and get some pacesetters, they aren't expensive.

I've been reading alot about headers lately and this is what I've learnd; The manifolds your truck has stock are realy close to what shorties are, so you won't see much performance gains if you go with shorties. If you want hp down low, get long tube headers with 5/8 primaries, these will improve scavanging at a lower rpm, but resrtict flow at higher rpm. The oposite is true with 3/4" primaries; better flow at high rpm, but less scavaging at low rpm. If you must go with shorties, I've heard of slight gains with the JBAs, but I think you might be disapointed witht the results. Save up and get long tubes.

Agreed, I have Gibson SS shorties, I could not tell any difference over stock manifolds. Go for the LT's.

are you staying N/A or eventually going F/I??? if your going F/I anytime soon, shorty vs. long isnt as big of a debate as if you were staying N/A.... if your set on shorties for a cheap price... i know edelbrok makes em coated for circa 300 bucks...

I bought my summit headers before I found this website... my SOTP test showed to gain some on the mid-top end, nothing at all on the low end.... I am not disappointed with them either, but yes if I would start all over I would definately get the long tubes...
