Default Short Belt

I have the ASP pulleys so I can bypass the power steering without the belt rubbing but it appears the only way to do this is to bypass the power steering AND the idler pulley under the throttle body. Just wondering if anyone has done it this way and if it would be ok to bypass the idler pulley. Thanks.

i think smokeur5.0 used a short belt setup on his dyno runs i doubt if there would be a huge problem with doing that though, isn't the idea on a short belt to run off crank, alt and waterpump only??? well, tentioner also.

I read that you have to add an extra pulley but it looks like you can reroute it to bypass the idler and power steering pump. I wasn't sure if the idler pulley served any purpose other than to route the belt around the throttle body.
