Question shocks on the 06's

why is it the stock shocks on the 06's on seem bad even though theyre brand new, anyway i was looking at getting the kyb monomax's all they way around, but some one said they were really stiff. anyone have any experience with these or can anyone make a recommendation?

If you have the coin, I'd get Bilsteins. I replaced my stock Z71 shocks with those and it made a world of difference.

I second this. I just replaced the shocks in our Suburban 1500 with Bilsteins and it's a night and day difference. Soft ride with responsive characteristics, yet can handle loads very well. Last load the Suburban towed was a T320 Bobcat on a tandem axle trailer carrying 2 pallets of sod. (9700lb Bobcat, 1800lb/pallet sod + trailer = roughly a 15,000lb rolling trailer load evenly distributed on the trailer's axles) No load assist bags or stiffer suspension, stock 5-link rear. The *** end was dragging, but on the highway the ride was smoother than the last time I hauled that much with the stock OEM blue shocks.

Yeah, I've ridden in trucks that have bilsteins and they are much better than stockers. If you have a RCSB like I do, the stock shocks can jar the 'eff out of you on a rough road.
