I am installing my HPP3 today. However, I want all my shift right at 5800 rpm. What shift point settings should I used to get this?

Alright, I just took my truck for a test drive with the HPP3 and I could definately feel a difference. Here are the settings I used;

93 oct tuning
1-2 +4
2-3 +12
3-4 +4
engine rev limiter = 6200
shift firmnes = yes

With these settings, I am shifting right @ 5900 rpm's which is close to where I wanted it. Any other suggestions or comments are appreciated.

Well, unless Hypertech changed their calculations for 3.73 gears for 01 trucks, I think you're shifting alot higher than that or your tach is off. My truck also has 3.73 gears and my HPP booklet said every 1 mph = 128 rpm's in 1st gear and 68 rpm's in 2nd gear. So at +4 you should be shift at 6116 assuming your stock 1-2 shift is 5600 like mine is on my 00 truck (128 x 4 (512) + 5600 = 6116. +12 for second would have you shifting at 6016 from 2-3 assuming your stock 2-3 shift is 5200 like my truck (+12 x 68 (816) + 5200 = 6016. If you went to a +2 for 1-2, that would have you at 5856 (128 x 2 (256) + 5600 = 5856 and 2-3 shift at + 9 would have you at 5812 by my calculations. Of course this was for my 00 truck and the booklet that came with my HPP, check the chart and do the math.

Yes, you are right. I was checking the manual right now. I am pretty sure the shift points have not changed for 02. So then I am shifting above 6K. What are your setting?

File you can not go by what the book says anymore. You installed the pulleys and that gives you the rpm's faster so dont go by the book. When i installed my pullies I had the hypertech installed and it over rapped every time. I thought it was something else, then daniel told me to take my shift points down and that did the trick. i have them at
1 - 2 +1
2 - 3 +4
and i am shifting at 5950.
So the book gets dissmised after you install your pulley,
then readjust after electric fans.
at least thats what happened to me.

If you want 5800 rpms shifts, try +2 and +9, that should be ABOUT 5856 and 5812 for 1-2 and 2-3 respectivly. I had mine at +3 and +10, my truck seemed to shift best there. I don't have the HPP any more, I've got a Predator now an it's alot more precise on the shift points. I have a stock exhaust now so I lowered my shifts a bit, all my shifts set for 5850, with the Predator you can adjust the shifts in 10 rpms increments. I'm working on getting a muffler and tailpipe off of an Silverado SS, maybe just what I'm looking for.
