i think you're certainly on to something. i'm not saying your truck isn't making good enough power to break parts, but you're breaking parts at a power level way below what others have been running and not broken a thing. those leaf springs certainly don't look right. i'd look for another set from a 99 (99' leaf springs are 20mm lower than an 00') and add caltrac's to them or build something similar. i'd also recomend getting rid of that two piece heavy *** driveshaft setup. i tihnk with a one piece driveshaft and the pinion angles correct you shouldn't have the tailshaft breaking problem. (something else maybe, but not that, lol).

Your leafs are deffinatly bad, but with a 2-piece driveshaft the pinion angle out of the tranny isnt effected by the rear. The carrier bearing holds the first shaft in its place, but the second could suffer and shimmy acceleration due to the axle wrap.

Why hasnt any one tried some ladder bars on there truck yet? Makes for one solid axle with 0 axle wrap.

with the front driveshaft not being solidly mounted it can have adverse affects based on what's happening in the rear driveshaft. at the yoke for the front shaft, there isn't much room for error.
