I got the converter in and it idles at aout 600rpm. Westers tuned for it. Well now I have an SES light and the tranny has always made a squeel at WOT on the 1-3 shift. Whats wrong??? Im taking it in to get the SES code. I dont understand, The truck drives like a beast though???

The SES light I'm getting is for shift solenoid B stuck open if I remember correctly.
I'll check my logs when I get home.
On the 1-2 shift now, I get a squeel too, but mine is the serpentine belt, not the tranny making the noise.
I also put in a transgo shift kit and billet servos at the same time as the verter.
You're right about it driving like a beast though...and mine is only a 4.8, when I first got in it after the install, it felt like a totally different truck.

Maybe it is the serpentine belt. Thanks, I feel alot better. Luckily pops is Fleet manager at Gm so I can get it scanned whenever. I'll get it handled. The exterior mods have me real excited. As for performance I think I'll go with a wet shot, Posi, and a tranny rebuild. Im excited....

I hate that code...no first or fourth sucks....until I cut the truck off for about 15 seconds to let the pressure bleed back down....then it's fine again.

Good thing it doesn't happen too often (knock on wood)
