Default SES code

I installed my Thorley headers about 3 weeks ago, at the same time i took the cats off and put 02Simms in their place, the simms were used tho so they may be bad. Here's my problem, i get the ses light after a few days and if i reprogram with my hypertech the light goes off for a couple more days and comes back and stays there for good. Im guessing its the 02 Simms not working properly, but why does the hypertech make the code go off for a while? I tried unhooking the battery for about an hour but the light stayed on that time. Im at a loss here, and thinking a custom tune is probably the only cure? Thanks a bunch...

Guessing here, not familiar with the hypertech. Probably just re-setting the code and the problem re-occurs therfore another code light. Most codes don't appear on the first occurance of the code. There must be 2 codes withing a certian period of time I think before the light is turned on.

My HP Tuners has the option to disable the SES light which I've had to do for a rear 02 code that keeps coming back.

Take it to autozone and get the code scanned. They do it for free.

Ucould have gotten the wrong 02 sims. I got some for my truck and the connectors that I plugged the sims into were a different color and it was throwing codes. I'm guessing they are Caspers and if they are you can just send them back for the other ones. Be Year Specific or check their site!
