As for Richard and Rex, their customer service and willingness to talk to me on the phone and explain everything is the reason they are getting my business. I called a few local builders also and they didn't seem interested in "chatting" with me. Rex and Richard will talk your ear off if you keep asking questions

I wasn't knocking you decisions. I was actually thinking that a 218/224 is a medium cam on a 5.3 and a small-medium on a 5.7. I was thinking on the same scale it would be like stock in a 408.
If you're answer is simply, that's what you wanted, then that's what I was looking for. If someone recommended it, I was going to ask why and maybe what you told them to recomend that cam.
FWIW, COmp Cams recommended a 216/220 114 to me for my 408.

I have a stock-ish stall converter
I use the truck to tow a 6000lb boat
The truck already weighs 5000-5500lbs since it's ECSB 4WD
It's my daily driver, I put about 3000 miles a month on it (already put 14k on the 408 since it went in back in January)
I got tired of the chunky cam that was in there before
The engine spends about 90% of it's time below 2500 RPM

BTW, motor is out and on a pallet in the back of my buddy's truck, ready to go to the freight yard tomorrow. Time on the job was roughly 5 hours, with about a 30 minute break for dinner
Then putting it on a pallet and securing it and loading it into the truck took another two hours (which included a trip to a local business after hours to pillage their shipping dock for a decent pallet
).
