Where do they all vary? ls1,2,3,6 lq this lq that im new to the gm game and have no idea what the differences are. im really interested in learning about them. i hope to be just as familiar with them as i am with my ford engines.

I guess my main concern is the block basis. are all ls engines 98-present all based the same. ex- can a vette blcok be used in my truck. stuff like that.

For the most part they are all the same. U prob would want to stick with a gen III, which would be the LS1, 6, or a LQ4 or 8. The others would work also but the Gen IV have a few things that are a little different, like sensor location and reluctor wheels are different.

 

whats a reluctor wheel? and what would i have to do to get a ls7 long block in my truck. would my intake and all just bolt up?
