Default Injectors ?

I have a 04 5.3 silverado will 8.1L injectors be a direct fit or will have to buy pigtails Thanks....

99.9% sure they are direct fit.

Direct fit. Make sure you get the Marine injectors if your wanting 42#. I believe the part # is 17113739, you can search to find out for sure, I'm looking at a blurry pic I took.

thanks alot I found some truck injectors for cheap Im trying to clear up some codes an Ill start with the injectors.....Kevin

on the same topic:
does anyone have the info about re-flowing 42's to 60?? I read a company was doing it and the cost was way less than dealing with new injectors.

forgive my ignorance guys.... noob chiming in here.... if you want to point me to a different link/thread thats fine too...

why would you want the 8.1 injectors? what is 42#?

When you start to push the performance of the motor, you can easily push the stock injectors past what they can efficiently/safely do.

Any type of Forced induction will need bigger injectors, and those running large a large cam/heads.

stock injectors for the 5.3's are rated at 26#(or 28# cant remember for sure, but its not enough)

nice thing about 8.1l injectors they can be found for cheap

at what point during the modification process would you need bigger injectors? obviously im not there yet (all i have is an intake setup) but next is the muffler and LT's and after that is a tune and Cams
