I am finally getting some safety stuff done. I guess it took the track telling me not to come back to actually get started with it. I want to thank Dan at www.TOOLBARN.com for paying for some of this stuff
, I guess having someone to help pay for it helps get it done too.
so far i have a fire jacket
tranny blanket
4 driveshaft loops, here are pic's of the loops >> http://www.neufamily.org/images/loops/
After looking at the truck with the cage builder we decided just a 6point roll bar with the tubes thru the back window would be the best. A full cage would really mess up the interior. I told him to put me on his schedule and it looks like it will be about 6 weeks before he can get it done.
Roll pan should be painted this weekend finally.
pt88 and 4" dp should be here Friday, if they make it here then I bet I get it running on Saturday. Probably going to keep the 3.5" exhaust I have and put in a 4" manual cut out right at the end of the downpipe.
looks like the 18" rim purchase agreif was working on is going thru so some 18x9.5" rims and 4 nittos will be going on in a month or so.

ABout time you got rid of those poor old firestones. You started a firestorm over there on the ford boards. I get alot of personal enjoyment watching the lightning guys argue with each other. Keep up the good work sounds like you should be dropping a few more tenths in the next month or so.

you do the loops and stuff yourself?
You have to admit with all of the power you are making, you have to feel a little better now.
And personnally i can't belive sam got a 4inch down pipe out of that thing. i can't wait to see how that fits!

Good that you are going to be safer! I have a hard time with the roll bar thing.. To me it stops being a "daily driver street truck". I know your driving habits are not going to change, it just brings on a whole new feel..
You go from sleeper street truck to "drag truck on the street".. I know it is the right thing to do and you should be commended for taking the step..
Anyway can I see a better view of this pic?
Congrats again on the sponsor!
For the record, I had never heard of toolbarn.com before they sponsored you, now they are listed under favorites.. They have a nice selection of tools! Not to mention a great breakdown on parts for tools!

I will try and get you a better pic tomorrow when I am wrapping the tranny blanket around the tranny. my neighbor did the loops, outlaw chassis is the name of his outfit, he does entire tube frames and stuff like that.
Sam told me they had to bring out some special tools to get the 4" down pipe to fit. something about a BFH?
i can't wait to try the new turbo. along with more methanol, this kit i have is made for a buick 3.8 and even though i have it cranked all the way up it sounds like i should be able to flow about twice as much as i am before i run into distribution problems. it isn't too hard to imagine mid 10's boost only on pump gas.
