If I was to go with something like the Nelson tune, how would that show up at the dealer if I took in for warranty???

It wouldn't show up because you are replacing the PCM.

Wester's and Nelson's (I would think) are invisable to the GM tech 2 scan tool (my work has one). if they question you about it, say it's a factory freek and don't update it

Could the dealer reset the Nelson PCM if I took it in for work??

yes, they could flash it with a stock program, but you just have to call Nelson's and he'll resend another computer (just pay for shipping). I think you can also request that they call you before they flash it with any updates, make up some excuse that it doesn't have the problem that the update repairs. If Nelson's is like Wester's then he puts all the updates from GM into the computer before he sends it out
