Default runs horrible under 1/4 tank

My truck has never had this problem before up until a couple of months ago. The truck will bog and flat out sound different if there is anything less than 1/4 tank of gas in it, with a half tank or more it runs awesome. My first thought is the fuel pump is toast. The fuel filter was just changed so that can be ruled out. Now if its the fuel pump I would like to go with an after market high flow one, which do you guys suggest for my truck? any imput would be greatly appreaciated.

if ya got a few mods it runs crapy, if ya have stock it runs fine, after i did a couple minor things to my truck after i got it, like exhuast, mod the air box, and knocked the mass flow sensor screen out, thats when it started runnin crapy....simplely ruled out that the gm fuel pumps suck lol

i would put that maf screen back in, this is probably one of the most misunderstood things and its a mod i wish i didnt do. It leans out the engine and can make it run like crap if its not tuned for it not being in there. I ran for a long time with out one and put another screen back in and it ran alot smoother. Anyways what do you guys think of any of the fuel pumps from speed inc?

You should get a fuel pressure gauge before you spend on a new pump. Might just be placebo effect. Whenever I have a full tank I floor it everywhere. When I'm low I drive slow so I get good milage.
