running 12's
How hard is it for a RCSB 5.3 manual 5 speed to run in the high 12's all day long? I know it's damn easy for f-body's but I just wanted to know like a list of mods you can do to get it to run 12's.

I didn't know you couldnt get a 5.3 with a manual transmission. I know I definatley want a manual transmission though. Are the 4.8's alot slower than the 5.3's?

yeah it might be kind of a pain in the **** without FI and still keeping it a daily not saying is impossible there are plenty of people doing it but their cams are pretty extreme and they have like 3k stalls i think i am sure one of them will post up and tell you

I don't believe they ever made a 5.3 with a 5 speed, but a 4.8 yes. I know one of my buddies just swapped his 4.8 with a 5.3 with a 5 speed and had a hell of a time doing it. If you're just wanting a 12 second truck your best bet would be to start with a 6.0 auto. Tune, headers, stall, cam, heads= ~mid 12's
