Default RPM's

I hear others talking about shifting at 6300 and higher but my motor is just dead after 5600. That's where the shift point is set but even if I shift manually there is just nuttin left after 5600. Completely flat, no pull, no energy at all. Is this normal?

Is this the stock valve train reaching max spin? Is it possible/probable that Nelson left a rev limiter program in the computer? Whaddya think??

Last night I ran to 6k and then got a SES light. Advance Auto read the code and says it's an 02 sensor, left bank. Now what?

Put......BIG.....cam......in.....it If its possible to spin to 6k, the rev limiter isn't your problem. What engine is in it? 4.8, 5.3, 6.0? I think my rev limiter is set at 6500, and it pulls hard all the way there.

Have you ever floated a valve? If so you probably need new springs. Or has it always been this way?

If you have stock cam and valvetrain, then 5600 is good. On the dyno I pulled it to 6700 and it made power all the way up to there. I have my shiftpoints at 6400rpms though.

I wasn't insuinuating (sp) that you would float a valve reving that high, but if you over rev one and do float a valve, it usually wont pull hard in the upper rpm range. Didnt mean to confuse

i know what you mean, i am lucky that i never did float or even break a spring with the 212/218 cam in it.
