He (Sarge) is very proficient at the English language. Never heard of him before this thread....He's my new hero!

I gave RP a shot and it's done well. I didn't log for any mpg differences at all, but it does feel like the oil pressure is more consistent and the motor seems smoother at idle. I know that all can be effected by other variables, but overall I've been impressed with the product and it does last quite a long time. I've been told by various GM technicians to just change the oil when the oil life reaches 0% disregarding mileage or whatever else you may have looked at before. I need to change the oil (waiting for cam swap), but I think I got like 8k miles on that one. Just my opinion.

6 qts is correct.

I've heard BG is coming out with a synthetic oil that's supposed to be kick-***.

I guess I'm a 23yr old old school guy.

I use 10w-30 dinosaur oil and AC Delco filters. Both get changed every 3000miles. I can't see having an oil related problem with that.

so true. I haven't seen amsoil anywhere except an offroad shop that carried their filters. One of my customers is a RP employee

They have amsiol here at the local farm store, but I can't justify paying the $7+/qt.
I know it's good stuff, but I don't think it's that good. I've been using mobil one changing at about 5000 miles and all is fine. If we were talking about conventional oils I would have to agree with the pennzoil sucks argument, but I think the Pennziol Platinum synthetic stuff is actually good oil. As far as Royal Purple goes, while I have no good evidence to back it up that stuff appears to be good for releasing a couple more horses out of the engine, but I feel that it probably does so with less engine protection than some of the others possibly due to a weaker film strength. Just my opinion on the subject. It really doesn't matter much what you use as long as you change it when it needs to be changed.
