Not to nitpick too much, but LS7s have 1.8 ratios stock.

You can look into Harland Sharp rockers as an upgrade to the stockers although they are pricey. Summit has them for around $400 or so. I looked into this not too long ago and got about the same results you are finding and that is most people say stick with stockers. If you are going to do a high lift cam your money is better spent with good springs and pushrods.

Yep, but they don't work on the other engines. The tip does not get the right pattern across the valve.
