Default Need Swap Help Asap

I have a 2000 Chevy Silverado with a 4.3, and I am putting in a 2001 5.3 motor. Can anyone tell me why i would not be able to use the 4.3 motor mounts on the 5.3.. I bought 5.3 mounts, the ones that bolt to the motor, but for some reason they do not fit onto the frame where they are supposed to bolt up to. I mean there is just no possible way for them to fit. Any suggestions or input on this would help out greatly because i cant do anything else till I get this figured out.

thanks,
david

I am about to do the same swap. From what I understand you have to get the frame mounts as well as the motor mounts. Here is a link to a great thread that I am useing as a refrence.

Do I need to use the spacer mount with the 5.3 frame and motor mount, or do I just use the frame mount and the motor mount.

Other people I have talked to have said to use the 4.3 mount on the pass side, and the 5.3 mount on the driver side. Can I just use both 5.3 mounts on each side? would this work or no?

there are two mounts, Frame mount and engine mount, both have to be replaced with the 5.3 mounts. Sounds as if you only got the motor mounts. Get the frame mounts from the 5.3 and you will be good to go.

there are two bolts holding on each frame mount.

Why would you use a 4.3 mount on one side. That makes about as much sence as wipeing befor you poop. Just use the 5.3 mounts on boths sides and you should be fine.

i bought both upper and lower mounts when i did my swap from a 4.3 to a 5.3 i bought these new from the stealership, the left side worked just fine engine mount and frame mount the right hand side wouldnt work, it would hit the ac/ compressor and the holes wouldnt line up to the frame. so for ***** and grins i installed the engine mount for my 4.3 and checked the lower mount, it bolted right in... no problems ..

p.s. later on i found out i had the wrong ac compressor mounted ( came with motor) i think they just grabbed one dunno... the other mount may have worked may have not but i do know the 4.3 worked on the right side ..
