Default Rocker install need help.

I am installing Harland Sharp 1.8 on my 6.0, I checked the preload and it came to 2 turns to get to 22 ft.lbs. I added the comp 918 springs and it is 2 and1/4 is this ok or do I need shims?

2 turns is the absolute max you want to go. I'd definitely use some shims. When I used the 1.7 Harland Shaprs they went just under a 1/2 turn for 22ft/lbs. Try to keep them in the 1/4 to 3/4 turn range for best lifter life. 2 turn I believe comes out to .060" pre-load.

I put it together and started it, runs fine but, now it has a small tap on the left side almost like one may be hitting the valve cover, they all cleared the heads fine. Could too much preload cause this tapping?
