Default Are Rocker Arms worth the money and time

I don't know if I want to tear into the motor now, and do the head and cam swap considering the money level at hand. But is there a decent gain, or more so for supercharged applications by going to 1.8 fullcrum and tip roller rockers?

If I could get maybe 10 horsepower stock, and then maybe another 10 to 15 with supercharging, then I will go ahead and do these myself. Since 1.8 ratio, and the fact that I wont rev the truck over 5800 rpm, means that I can use the stock valve springs all day, then this becomes a relatively easy job for me, that I will definately do, of course if it is worth it.

Anyone with experience with these, or are there any dyno numbers. I thought about the 1.85 SLP rockers, but they recommend that the springs and retainers be changed to their heavy duty ones and they dont have roller tips. I talked to a tech at SLP performance parts, and he stated that I could use the 1.85 rockers with the stock vavle springs, as long as I did not rev over 6000 rpms, but I think that is pushing the compression of the springs a little. With our stock cam, I have read that these motors get .465" of lift, and with the 1.8 rockers .531" are obtained. .564" of lift with the 1.85 rockers seems a little much. These lift numbers sounded kindo of high to me, but SLP Performance Parts stated these numbers to me also.

Anyone with experience on these, the help will be greatly appreciated!

You guys have already helped me so much, and in so many ways to get my project off the ground and rolling!

I'd go with the Shaft Mounted Yela Terra rockers. They are bad ***, super strong, and easy to install. With shaft rockers, you just tighten them down and go.

I would change the valve springs if I was doing rockers. I don't trust stock springs at that lift. Then you may as well swap retainers too. Too much money spend for little power gains. I decided against this until I do a head swap.

A while ago I put 1.7 rollers on 5.0 Ford (not a Stang!) from the 1.5 stockers and noticed no power gain. There is more valve train stability and all but wasn't worth the time spent.
