Default rocker arm and *HEADS* Q's

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ROCKE...spagenameZWDVW

this is a set of 1.7 ratio rocker arms for a big block chevy. does anyone know if these will work on my 4.8. i assume if there would be problems it would be clearance issues, right??

I really doubt it. Those are made to fit on a 7/16" stud. Besides the fact that the new engines are all metric, the whole design of that area has been changed.

Edit: After scrolling down and looking at the large pictures I can definitely say they will NOT fit. Afraid you'll have to look elsewhere.

look for LSX rockers of you want to swap them... but a rocker swap alone doesnt net you much Hp gains and is very spendy... money is better spent elsewhere IMO...

You have 1.7 rockers stock. Unless your looking for something stronger these won't net you any gains. Not to mention they won't fit

i am lookin for something stronger and was just lookin around so i deleted the "ls1" in my ls1 1.7 rocker search on ebay. just figured it be worth it to ask u guys. but yeah. ive got a tr220, tr push rods, and 918s on the way. a buddy of mine told me i might as well throw on some new rockers while the valve covers are off..

or do you still suggest otherwise?

also since were on the topic... do you think itll be worth it to find a set of ported/polished heads and slap my new springs and new rockers on (if i decide on forking out the $400 for rockers) what casting numbers should i look for??? and also please specify which castings will have to be milled or not, cause if they have to be milled then im only gonna go for it if its already been done.

so basically ifor me wanting to buy heads, swap the new parts, and bolt on, which casting numbers and what milling specs should i look for. btw its going on a 4.8 thats going to remain N/A. thanks a bunch!

Get an 1.8 rocker arms. 1.7 will not get you much HP for money you spend.
also you'll need different length push rods, valve cover spacers, not to mention you have to get longer spark plug wires due to valve cover space.
it's really pain in the ***.

you are talking about having to change everything if i go with 1.8 right??

1.7 is stock so i wont have to swap anything correct??. also my push rods are 7.4 and dont want to have to buy new ones again.

Make sure the new ratio wont bind your springs.

yes, most likely you'll need new pushrod.
I have 1.8 rocker arms,
It's pain in the ***. I had to do it several times, Ouch! it's truly pain in the rear end.

i dont know about 1.7 rockers arm, but if it is roller tip. I think you need valve cover spacers.

Good Luck with your project.
