Default Ride Control Suspension on 2002

I a have 2002 RCSB 5.3 2wd with the Ride Control option. Does anyone know anything about this system? The owners manual states it aids during towing, but I am wondering if I could do a 2/4 Hotchkis drop and keep the shocks. It would be nice to be able to be able to select the ride firmness with a suspension drop package. I had an 89 RCSB with the full hotchkis setup and Bilstien shocks that I felt was a little too stiff for a daily driver. I am trying to get the new truck to handle better but still be comfortable.

I have a 2-4 drop on my RCSB and kept the ride control feature. Although I think the shocks will wear out pretty quickly, mine are feeling kind of worn already.

Thanks for the reply Norcal.I think I will settle for the shackle drop until I am out of warranty.
