Default rich? not sure where to put this

I cut my tail pipe off right after the axle, and ive always noticed there is alot of black "smoot" (sp).
After i cut it off, i looked under there and noticed there is some running up the pipe..

Ill have to get some pictures to show you guys, but is this from running rich?

on my tune, i only have changed trans settings, and Spark tables, not messed with any fuel mixture. i didnt notice anything until my uncle said something to me bout my truck running pretty rich because the tailpipe is really black inside..

So what does you exhaust look like? on the inside?

I know thats pretty much power and fuel mileage running out the exhaust....

Oh and my friend told me the other day after i got off the interstate..
We were goin about 65 or so and i went WOT. He said that there was a noticeable amount of black smoke comin from my exhaust...

could be "performance" but since you have EFILive, I'd post in tuning and ask others to look at your tune (post it up) and help you diagnose a probable rich scenario. Adjusting spark can (will) effect fuel trims, maybe not this severe.

btw, notice in your sig your R compaining of your 60e slipping, you mention in this thread you messed with trans settings. hmmm, again, tuning section IMO.

yea just shift points and stuff like that.
I looked at the Hypertech settings, and the only thing it changed was the FMC -/+ by 8.6%. I liked the way that shifted so i put that in with the shift points. I took out 40% TM out and didnt like they way it shifted. So i put that back to stock. Figured i wouldnt take anymore out till i got a built trans.
The only time it slipped was when i was at WOT and hit a nice bump in the road, tranny didnt like that!

Even waited for a lil while and went racing for a lil while with no slip..

Thanks dewey!

Best advise I can give you is to invest in a WB and tune your AFR.
My tips used to get real black when I was running rich, now they just have a slightly dark coloring to them.

Nonne

If I were you I would take it to the dyno in pearl and use his wideband and find out. That would be alot cheaper then buying on right now. I know that a trans is in your future so I would get it tuned as cheap as I could for now.
