Default Rev limiter???

My truck is stock, besides msd wires and an intake. And for some reason I can punch it from a 30 roll and it downshifts. But it hits the rev shifting to 2nd??? The trans isnt slipping or anything? Any insight would be awesome, thanks guys.

Mine was tuned for the Rev Limiter at 6,200-6,300. I never manual shift, Always drive in D. It shifts at 5,900 on its own...only way it'll hit the limiter is if it somehow sees neutral or some **** breaks.

It's possible he increased the shift points without increasing the rev limiter. It's also possible that the clutches are starting to slip at WOT.

my old truck did it when it was cold out on WOT 1-2 and 2-3 shifts. It wasn't a problem in summer, but in winter it would bounce the limiter on a WOT shift.

mine used to do it on my 01 every now and then when i had the shift point at 6k and rev limit at 6200..... they could be too close...

i moved shifts to 6300 and rev to 6800 and never had any other issues till the output shaft broke.....

Either a tuning issue or your band is on the way out. If you're downshifting at WOT on a stock transmission, it's really just a matter of time.

Start saving up for a built transmission.
