Maybe if you had a really good junkyard hookup and were doing your own labor. The 24x 6.0's are one thing but a 58x 6.0 in my experience is hard to find without paying a pretty penny for it. I am doing a swap in one of my own vehicles and ended up grabbing a 5.3 just because I wasn't willing to pony up the cash for a 6.0 (or wait 2 years for the perfect deal).

i'm in houston so i'm surrounded by good yards. heck an 80,000 mile 5.3 long block goes for 4-500 around here. and i always try to do my own work. i think the only thing i pay for anymore is transmission and rear end. it costs too much to have someone else wrench for you.
