Been looking at some used truck prices, and it seems that the Ford F250 trucks are holding their value much better than the GM trucks of the same last few years. In a way, that is good for me since I want the GM truck and might just buy a nice used one.
Question for the ex-cab GM truck owners. When did they become 4 doors? So I know which years to shop for if I go used.

I think 2000 was the first year but I'm not positive. I know 2000 was the first year they went with 4 wheel disk brakes. 2000 does have 4 door, I'm just not positive if they were available before that. I know my 97 was only 3 door.
This info is on half ton, not sure about 3/4 or 1 ton. And that's the "clam-shell" type doors not full size. They do have that new 1500 HD which has crew cab.

What BigTex said. Although, I was looking at my sticker and could not find the charge for the option. Edmunds says it's a $195 option on the 2000's. There was a 00 truck or two on the lot w/o 4 doors when I got mine.

'99 trucks came standard with four wheel disk brakes. No '99 Silverado has four doors. It was an option to have four doors in 2000 and after 2000, four doors became standard on all extended cabs. That should clear things up a bit <img src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" border="0">
