Default Replacing Muffler Question

I am replacing most of my exhaust on my 06 RCSB 4x4 Silvy stainless 1-7/8 headers, stainless Y, then i want to save Some money by Replacing the Factory Muffler with a Magnaflow or Dynomax ect, Has anyone here done this and were they able to find a muffler length close to what will be taken out? I'm in process of building a 383 stroker LM7 so i can't afford the Dual pipe Magnaflow cat back setup quite yet, Thanks

If your going with 7/8" headers on a 383, i think you would be better off uping the size a little bit instead of the single 3" after the y, unless your dumping it right away.. just my 2cents.
