Replacement muffler
#15
I had a magnaflow on mine and could only tolerate it for about a year. Then went with a dynomax and it quieted the truck down a bit. Not as much as I was expecting but deff less drone.
Anyone had luck with a Borla?

That is good to know about the dynomax. I'm starting to wonder if i should screw with it. I really like a good sounding exhaust, but since i don't have cats i don't want to make it loud and annoying with drone.
I had a cheap no name muffler for a while and only lasted a couple weeks as it was too annoying and raspy. At idle it sounded great though.

I have the true big body magna flow on my truck with long tubes and no cats. It is the perfect mix of growl under throttle and quiet while cruising. At idle you can tell it isn't stock but its just a quiet rumble. Get the 22"x5"x11" it will keep things quiet, but the straight thru design will allow it to sound mean at wot.

Just had Magnaflow Muffler Part# 12259 installed this morning on my 2009 5.3L. All stock system except for a Banks CAI.
I was in the waiting area at the service station when they fired her up...i couldn't see the truck from where i was sitting...all I could do was smile and say..."that's my boy!".
Really brought the truck to life. I'll try get a video up soon....a little before and after 'cause headers and y pipe are next in the coming weeks.
I recommend Magnaflow Part #12259 as a good balanced all around replacement muffler.
