Default Removing EGR question

I am about a year behind now, but I'm back and I didn't find this in "search," so here goes. I don't have an LS1Edit tune yet and I want to remove the EGR BS so will it just turn on the SES light without affecting anything else, (just like the cats) or will the computer get all pissed off if I remove it? Thanks for the help, and if anyone has a spare EGR plug for the manifold, please post here as well

Wort case for now, you can cut the protruding cylinder that inserts into the intake manifold. The F-body and Vette guys do this and gain up to 8 HP. I did it recently, it takes all of 5 minutes.
Search the LS1HowTo site, I think it has pics and all if needed.
PS, the 01+ trucks don't use the EGR. You can pick up a used manifold from one of the SC guys for cheap and not worry about the block off plate.

I already cut the pipe but now I just want it all removed. Will the truck run fine if I just leave the SES light on? (I already have a SES for cats) Or will it reduce power output? Tune is coming soon hopefully.
