Default Removed cats, got any earplugs?

I removed my cats over the weekend. It sounds like crap!! I don't know if it is the Flowmaster or what, but it just sounds horrible, it is really deep and loud, I do not like it. Any one have any ideas or suggestions about a muffler that sounds good for a good price. I am going to the track Thur. to see if there was any improvements at all. I have ran the truck 7 times and it ran 9.97-10.06 in the 1/8th, so it is very consistant. If I don't get a better time, I will definately be putting them back on. It also lost quite a bit of low end, but it pulls like crazy from 3K up.

"really deep and loud" and thats a bad thing? lol, to each his own, but i like it. ive got true 2.5" duals, no cats, and a pair of 2 chamber (40 series) flowmasters, its kinda loud but thats how i like it! you shoulda heard it w/ a pair of 1 chambers and no cats!! 1 chambers were cool til i took the cats off. might as well have had straight pipes.
might want to try a pair of Dynomax Ultraflows or some Magnaflows.

just out of curiosity, where in SC are you?
i used to race in Darlington until that track got closed down, again, this year. now its Rockingham or Fayetteville to run 1/4 mile around here. longer drive but oh well, whatcha gonna do? CHIP

I know what you mean. The elements in my cats burned up and jetissoned themselves some time back. It's intollerable. If I ever figure out how to make a quiet free-flowing dual exahust that is small enough to actually fit under the truck I'll be sure to post how how I did it. So far I've been unsuccessful.

gamedawg....ive only been to fayetteville a few times. when i go i run my car, not the truck. ill have the truck there, but itll have the trailer hooked to it, lol. there was a pewter ext. cab chevy silverado w/ a ProCharger, i think it was a ProCharger anyways, running 12.70s. he had nitrous, but wasnt spraying when i saw it run. quick truck!
had a sticker on the back glass...."FUKAHEMI" pretty badass!
he was about to run an 11.4 sec Duramax 4x4 but the track got oiled down. we got tired of waiting so we went home. he was gonna spray against the diesel so shoulda been a fun race to watch.

fayetteville doesnt hook very good from what ive seen. guess they dont prep the track much for sunday T&T. my car is pretty dependant on track prep though, 3700 lbs on a 10.5" DOT tire. my 60 foots are off atleast 1/2 a tenth from what the car normally runs at Darlington or Rockingham. ive never been to one of the freaky friday events they have, heard its fun though.
