Default reman engine, flexplate?

The tuner melted a piston on my 09 5.3 after I added a trick stage 2 turbo kit. I am getting ready to install the reman and I am not sure how to attach the flexplate. The reman did not come with a new one. Is the flexplate balanced to the engine? Do I install it the way it came off the old engine? Not really sure what to do hear its holding up progress. Thanks for any help

These engines are internally balanced.

Mine have always had a dowel to position them a certain way and to act as a hold. But position actually doesn't matter due to the above statement.

Ok thanks guys. The manual says to mark the flexplate and crankshaft orientation before removal but it does appear to only go on one way.

If you look at the back of the flexplate you should see where the blank hole in the crank was, just line em up and torque it down, youll be good to go....
