Default Reg-cab. Ex-cab. Too many choices.

As some of you may know already, I'm going to be buying a Chevy Silverado within the next few days. The current question that I have on my mind is would I rather have an extended cab 2WD or a regular cab 4WD truck. I've owned extended cab trucks before, but never a reg-cab. This truck will probably end up being a lightly modded daily driver. I like the idea of and ex-cab that I can turn into an office on wheels since I carry a lot of paperwork/info with me regularly, or at least a laptop and some other various electronics. But I also like the idea of a smaller 4WD truck just for fun. What do you guys think.

I never did like ECs, you can't fit adults in the back because it's not a CC. Get a RC.
