Default redline performance engineering camshaft

on ebay they have a billet 226/226 .585/.585 on 112lsa cam for 279 buy it now

anyone running anything this large or in this range cam on a 5.3 or 6.0???

they also have a billet 232/230 .580/.580 on 110lsa cam i think would be way to agressive to be streetable

opinions? comments? anything?

I has lots of lift so some head work would definitely be needed to increase airflow. Shifts would be way over 6500rpm on a 5.3 so some titanium retainers and rod bolts would help the engine stay together. Low end would definately suffer.... at least a 3200 rpm converter would be best. That cam would kick *** on the top end. It would sound nasty too.

That's identical to the Patriot Performance cam. Advertised RPM range is 2800-7200!

so this cam would need headwork as opposed to the 224/224 cam that i've seen other people run w/o???

i jsut happen to have a 3200 stall in the garage i'm not afraid of being a lil slower than average people on this board for in town traffic

rhino you have any thought on patriot performance as a company?

the first cam sounds like a good one for a 6.0

You would need headwork to flow enough to compliment that cam. Also your bottom end power will suffer more than with the 224.
