Does this work better than a catch can...or can it be used in conjunction with a catch can? If you already have a catch can, and are planning a future engine build, would it be worth the money to change to the LS6 Valley cover? (sorry about the multi-question thread hijack)

Either or. You cand and many use both. For the results I have seen from a few guys on LS1's I changed the cover on my enw motor. The cover is 44 bucks.

Ok so what I have gotten from this so far is I should use an LQ4 with the 317 heads and some ARP studs, and an LS6 valley cover. Another thing I thought about today is that I want to be able to rev it up higher than the stock limiter is set at, so a new set of springs would be good too....are the LS6 springs the ones people usually go with?

Any advice on the rest of my questions?

What RPM is high? If your gonna take it up real high id say some Comp 918's would be the best bet. Especially if you want to get a nice sized cam. Titanium retainers might be beneficial too.

Oh no, don't start that now. Yes it is and yes it can. Moving on...

I would get an LQ4, do some light porting on the heads. Put a nice SC grind cam in it and stick the 'ol Radix on it. I bet you'd get close to if not 500 at the wheels with a good tune. That'll get you a blown 60e and close to the 12's. LQ9 wouldn't be bad either, the lack of allowable boost might be made up with the higher CR. The SS guys seem to do just fine with them.

No. There is a part number for a small plug that you put in the PCV valves place. Forgot to post it. 12568011

so you can use this with stock truck manifold right? and is this ok on the o4 style i guess the pcv is a little dif than the 99-02 i think it is. i guess the 04's are fixed or something like that i can't remimber off hand but i don't think they are a normal pcv valve in other words i don't think there is a check ball thing and i don't think you can replace it. could be wrong though have been before lol
